Our History
Vituity Through the Years
Vituity has evolved through the years. But one thing that never changes is our passion for patient care. Here's a look at where we've been — and where we're headed.
2016
Vituity launches our Acute Psychiatry practice line and On Duty® telehealth service.
2011
Vituity now cares for over a quarter of all patients who visit an emergency department in California.
2009
Vituity expands across the country with new contracts in Arizona, Illinois, and Washington.
2005
Vituity expands beyond California with new contracts at Adventist Medical Center in Oregon and DeKalb Medical Center in Georgia and rebrands as CEP America.
2003
RME® is widely adopted throughout Vituity's emergency medicine practices, resulting in a significant decrease in patient wait times. Vituity becomes accredited to offer continuing medical education (CME) credits.
2001
Vituity Partners at Pioneers Memorial Hospital launch the Rapid Medical Evaluation® (RME) program, allowing emergency departments to begin treating patients as soon as they arrive.
1985
Vituity establishes its urgent care division and hires its first physician assistant.
1971
Vituity is founded as California Emergency Physicians by Roy Stambaugh, MD, as a loose affiliation of physicians providing emergency medicine services to hospitals.
