In 2015, Vituity launched its EMAP Fellowship program at Kaweah Delta Medical Center (KDMC), a 581-bed regional hospital in Visalia, Calif. This powerhouse teaching hospital is home to five residency programs, including an emergency medicine residency.

KDMC's emergency department treats more than 90,000 patients each year from Tulare, Kings, and surrounding counties, making it one of the busiest EDs in California.

Services include a Level III Trauma Center. In 2013, a newly constructed helipad began operation to facilitate transfers to and from the hospital, greatly speeding access to trauma care.

KDMC's FAST-track process streamlines treatment by starting care in the triage area, where the medical team determines the plan of care. Lower-acuity patients are seen in a treatment chair, while higher-acuity patients are triaged to a bed.

KDMC is part of an eight-campus public healthcare district. Vituity also manages several of the district's outpatient facilities, which see a combined 135,000 patients annually.
